From everyday striving to creative communion…
Building a life that reflects God’s glory At home, In the marketplace, and beyond.
How to Overcome Creative Block as a Christian Creative
I want to encourage you to resist the temptation to believe that something is broken in you or that you're deficient in some way. Creativity is at the very core of who you are because you were made in God's image. Even if you aren’t artistic like me, that is not the only definition/marker of being creative. You ARE creative, and the Lord will continue to lead you in everything that you do if you continue to surrender to Him.
Receiving God’s Love
For many, receiving God's love feels difficult for many reasons, like guilt, shame, or a "performance-based" upbringing. But God doesn't just love freely; He makes His love easy to receive. It is a strategy of the enemy to convince us that God’s love actually does have conditions and prerequisites when it doesn’t.
Behind the Art: New Creation/Living Waters
This painting represents the process that we go through both when we first give our lives to Christ, and even in cycles throughout the rest of our lives. When we make the decision to surrender our lives to the Lord, it initiates a spiritual and supernatural transformation within us.
Trust God in the Process
I used to believe that ‘trusting the process’ in life meant that you needed to react and handle everything perfectly—otherwise you weren’t really doing it right...Now, I realize that trusting the process has a lot more to do with surrender to God than with anything else."
God Can Do ‘Much’ With Your ‘Little’
We talk about rejecting hustle culture, yet find ourselves jumping right back on the hamster wheel. If we do everything in our own strength, what room is there to trust God?
Progress Over Perfection
You (and I) have permission to keep trying, keep progressing forward, and keep celebrating the milestones along the way, until finally one day it becomes so second nature and you look back with joy at the journey that got your there.
I Didn't Accomplish Most of My 2025 Goals
I nearly fell into the trap—focusing so much on the 'tangible' things that didn't happen that I almost missed the opportunity to celebrate the necessary growth and foundation that was laid.
Finding Joy After Grief
One of the things that I noticed as I started to look for ways to heal from this grief was that, not only in the world, but also in the church, there are some very alarming mindsets surrounding grief—the one I want to touch on today being that grief is something you'll live with for the rest of your life…Grief is not forever unless you simply want it to be.
You Don’t Have to Feel Lonely
Sometimes nothing is wrong on the inside—you’ve just been isolated. Sitting at home every day. Working remotely. Leaving church quickly. Only interacting with people through social media (which is a poor substitute for the real thing). If you’re not allowing community to be cultivated—if you’re not being intentional about connection—it’s no surprise you might feel lonely.
I’m Escaping Survival Mode
The search for our green couch brought me to the realization that my mindset of settling, taking the path of least resistance, and getting comfortable in survival mode—even when I escaped the things I was surviving—has built up this life around me that is full of limitations. Limitations that God never desired for me and definitely does not want for me now.
